So today I decided to add some commentary to some news items that are going around out there right now.
One is about the supposedly ‘racist’ ad starring Ashton Kutcher for Popchips.
The other is about a woman who was awarded workers compensation in Australia, who was on a business trip and during this time, had a sex romp and was injured.
In regards to the first ad, I went out of my way to seek out Popchips on Facebook and let them know that I don’t find it offensive. Of course, since I’m not Indian I wouldn’t find it offensive. But then again, I saw the movie White Chicks (crappy movie), and wasn’t offended. Personally I don’t find it racist, but here is a comment that I posted on their wall:
Anyhow, I want to say. What makes this ad racist? I really don’t get it. Us Americans find Indian accents funny, I’m sure they find ours funny too. I grew up multicultural, and quite frankly our differences are funny. Of course they are over stereotyping, but that is comedy people. I’m not even a Kutcher fan, but I am a pop chips fan and I’m tired of whiners.
Although everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether I agree with it or not.
Since I’m a fan of George Carlin, and he once said:
They’ll say, “you can’t joke about rape. Rape’s not funny.”
I say, “fuck you, I think it’s hilarious. How do you like that?”

They like to blame the rape on the woman. Say, “she had it coming, she was wearing a short skirt.”
These guys think women ought to go to prison for being cock teasers. Don’t seem fair to me.

It all depends on how you construct the joke. What the exaggeration is.

As for the workers compensation payout to the woman who had sex while on a business trip, here is what I had to say:
Well I only agree she should get compensation because the light broke on her. Even if she wasn’t having sex, it still could have fell and hit her. So the sex may have been the force that caused it to fall but it’s the hotels problem that it happened, and the work for choosing the hotel. Unfortunately.
If she had sex at another hotel, or at the persons place then I don’t think they should have covered it.
